Using a lightweight ball and working with a parent-coach, ask the child to:

  • Roll the ball back and forth, to the right and left
  • Catch the ball in the air
  • Catch the ball after one bounce
  • Catch the ball after two bounces
  • Catch the ball in the air or after it bounces while moving side to side
  • Catch it in a cone in the air or after the bounce
  • Toss a beach ball and catch it after the bounce
  • Toss underhand with both hands
  • Throw overhand to a coach or target using a beanbag or foam ball
