Once a child can swing and strike a stationary ball, this is the best game to have them learn to hit a moving ball or rally cooperatively without the barrier of a net. One-on-one, parent-coaches should stand a few feet from children and gently trade bump-ups with them, letting the ball bounce between them.

  • Position parent-coaches with their backs to the fence to keep balls from spraying.
